The Desert
Away and far the desert stretches
Thoughts of escaping this barren land,
From troubles and sorrows
From burdens
Drooping eyelids
Creases slide in unbeknownst to owner...
Comforts of life...that drag and tug and accost us all
Knowledge, fleeting martyrdom...
Yeah, we can change the world
And diapers of every child awaiting food...
Neverending cries
We ignore
But there is a moment
That seizes
Every human
Of course we can change the world
And we weep for none but ourselves.
As childhood visions dissipate
Vestiges of skin
Shed from fresh
To oily
To the dryness of the desert
We desire to consummate...
To save those we shun, we create
The new smell of leather
...Our endless salvation
