  • Medical Use Training Video for Seniors
    Kim plays a caregiver in "Kim Discusses Cross Cultural Medication Issues", a training video produced by the Medication Use Safety Training (MUST) for Seniors Program. Click here to view the training video.

    Kim was Assistant Director for Fourge, Cavegirl Productions and Catalyst Films' entry into the 2007 DC 48 Hour Film Project. The genre was buddy film.

  • Industrial
    In October 2006 Kim filmed a training video for CIA University.

  • The Old World
    Kim was involved in the 2006 DC 48 Hour Film Project with Cavegirl Productions made in conjunction with Catalyst Films as Ameila Earhart. The genre was historical fiction. The resulted short film was a satire of reality television called The Old World. Click here to watch the show.

  • Independent Film: Embalming
    Kim acted as Assistant Director to Catherine Aselford in the film Embalming. Embalming will be produced by Lilquiwi films and is currently in pre-production. Filming commences in April 2006. The synopsis: "A goth girl [Joy] working as a mortuary technician is challenged to unearth her own buried memories when she's confronted by the corpse of an even younger girl who refuses to rest in peace. Has she discovered a dark, forgotten history harbored deep within her subconscious, or is the dead girl's story a horror that's too powerful to ever be forgotten?"

  • Vagina Monologues
    As part of the V-day College Campaign, Kim joins a group of talented women in Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues. This performance will take place at the University of Maryland Baltimore School of Nursing Auditorium. Proceeds from this performance will go to The Violence Intervention Program at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and Y.A.N.A. (You Are Never Alone). V-day is a global movement to help stop violence against women and girls. More information about this production may be found here.

  • Is Your Body Worth 10 Seconds?
    Kim acts as a spokesmodel for an Academy for Educational Development poster campaign that encourages young women to take their multivitamins. The tagline for the Vita 101 Campaign will be "Is Your Body worth 10 Seconds?" Shooting takes place March 2006.


    2005

  • Recreation Center PSA
    Kim portrayed a fitness center patron in a Vietnamese recreation center public service announcement. This spot was filmed in December 2005 and will be aired on Fairfax County Government Channel 16.

  • The Invasion
    In October, Kim portrayed a Snatcher in the movie The Invasion, which stars Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig and Jeremy Northam. This remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel. The movie is currently in post-production.

  • Failure to Launch
    Kim completed extra work in August for the romantic comedy Failure to Launch starring Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker. Thirtysomething Trip (McConaughey) still lives with his parents and suspects that they are trying to get him to leave by setting him up with perfect girl.

  • Bones
    Kim completed extra work in August for the television series Bones starring Emily Deschanel and David Boreanez. Deschanel is Dr. Temperance Brennan, a forensic anthropologist who works with FBI agent Seely Booth (Boreanez). Together they solve a series of crimes. Dr. Brennan's expertise is in identifying the long-dead bodies of persons by their bone structure.

  • Vintage Fashion Show
    Kim participated as a model in the Art Deco Society of Washington's Vintage Fashion Show on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at the Washington Plaza Hotel. The fashion show acts as a Society fundraiser as well as a way to develop an appreciation for the styles of the 1920s through 1950s. More information about the show may be found here

    2004

  • 48 Hour Film Project
    Kim joins the Cavegirl / Defekt Productions team for another 48 Hour Film Project. The team will have from 7 pm Friday, April 29 to 7 pm Sunday May 1 to complete a short film. Kim will act as AD/Associate Producer, Contributing Writer, and Actor for the project..

  • Thank You for Smoking
    Kim portrayed a DC Tourist in the film Thank You for Smoking. This movie is directed by Jason Reitman and is a satirical comedy about how the chief spokesman for tobacco companies manages to do his job while acting as a rolemodel for his twelve-year-old son. DC area filming took place in March.

  • Beneath the Surface
    Kim participated in the "Look Beneath the Surface" poster campaign, portraying a woman forced into prostitution. Sponsored by the Administration for Children & Families division of the Department of Health & Human Services, this campaign is aimed at helping to save victims of human trafficking.   • Felt: Tearing the Fabric of America
    Kim once again joined the Cavegirl / Defekt Productions team October 1-4, 2004. This time it was as AD/Associate Producer, Writer, and Actor for an entry in the 2004 National Film Challenge. This mockumentary, Felt: Tearing the Fabric of America may be viewed at its official website GodHatesRags.com.

  • AOL Commercial
    Kim portrayed a satisfied AOL customer in a commercial entitled "All the Members" in September 2004.

  • Turning Point
    Kim recently joined SAG at the end of August 2004.

  • America's Best Student Shorts
    Kim takes on the role of host for these two half hour television pilots featuring a variety of student short films and videos from throughout the US. Student shorts range from comedies to dramas and animations to live action. Filming of the show took place late July 2004.   • Artscape 2004
    Kim rejoined Alive Productions Incorporated for a Breath, Voice & Body Rhythms Workshop featuring excerpts from Female Parts: One Woman Plays by Dario Fo and Franca Rame. This audience participation workshop will be part of Baltimore's Artscape 2004 and took place Friday, July 16 at 8 pm at the intersection of Oliver Street and Mount Royal Avenue.

  • "It is only when I lose contact with the painting that the result is a mess"
    Kim acted as Assistant Stage Manager in Hyacinth Theater Company's production of Fifteen Rounds with Jackson Pollock, written by Bruce Clarke and directed by Delia Taylor. This world premiere ran July 21-August 8 at the
    Warehouse Theater, 1021 Seventh Street, NW, Washington, DC.

  • Candlelight
    Kim took on the role of Gretchen in an audio recording of Candlelight, a children's story written by Martin Higareda. This recording featured the voice of cult novelist Poppy Z. Brite as that of narrator.

  • Industrial
    Kim was cast in the role of Lynn Nguyen for a Limited English Proficiency training video. The video featured cases where non-native English speakers required emergency medical attention, and was produced by SRB Productions. Filming took place late July.

  • US Department of Justice
    Kim has landed a voiceover part in Digging Deeper: The Reach of Human Trafficking for the US Department of Justice.
  • American Red Cross
    Kim recently filmed an industrial for the American Red Cross regarding emergency quarantine procedures.

  • Nine Men Down
    Kim landed a voiceover part as a "witness" in Story House Productions' documentary Nine Men Down. This special for The History Channel takes the viewer into one of the most tragic events in American Journalism. On April 30, 1970, President Richard Nixon announced the US invasion of Cambodia. Protests erupted across the United States, including the protest at Kent State University, which resulted in the fatal shooting of four students. It was also on this day that seven American network television journalists died while covering the war in Cambodia. The air-date is set for late July 2004.

  • Pancakes As You Like...Them
    Kim completed a commercial for The Original Pancake House. This Power Breakfast Series was directed by Rick Flowe and produced by News Channel 8 Client Services.

  • The Actors' Center Showcase
    Kim made her directorial debut at this year's Actors' Center Showcase with
    Anniversary by Conrad Bishop. One of the scenes selected by top ranking artistic professionals from the DC Metro Area, this excerpt of Anniversary takes the audience
    on a rollercoaster ride of marital strife in a mere seven minutes. The piece features local actors Kelley Slagle as The Wife and Brett Estey as The Husband. In addition to Anniversary, other winning scenes will be presented at this showcase, which will be held at The Rosslyn Spectrum on Monday, May 17 at 7:30 pm.

  • Caffeine, Creativity and Cameras
    Kim joined Cavegirl/Defekt Productions at the 2004 DC 48 Hour Film Project from May 7-9. This international film competition requires that teams create four to eight minute films in a mere two days. Genres are drawn by each team the evening of May 7. Also, at each city Kickoff Event, a specific character, prop and line of dialogue is drawn from a hat and must appear in the film in some capacity. Awards include Best Film of the City, Best Editing, Best Acting, Best Directing, Best Script, Best Cinematography, as well as the Audience Award. The screenings were held at the AFI Silver Theater in Silver Spring on May 12, 13 & 14.

  • Customs & Border Protection
    Kim was cast as a traveler in an industrial for the US Bureau of Customs & Border Protection. Filming took place Mid-April 2004.

  • Independent Short Screened
    Roommate Wanted? which was directed by Richard Baker and featured Kim as "Closet Girl" played at the DC Independent Film Festival as part of their Midnite Madness Show on March 5. This short comedy tells the story of an Elvis fanatic's search for the perfect roommate and has also been entered to be screened at this year's Maryland Film Festival. Last year, Baker's experimental short Por Mis Ojos (Through My Eyes) was screened at Artscape 2003 and the 2003 Maryland Film Festival.

  • Female Parts: Stories of Baltimore Women
    Kim joined Alive Productions Incorporated in a special performance project for Women's History Month at the Baltimore Theatre Project. This original play debuted March 2004 and offers the audience a glimpse of the future through the character Lyric's eyes as she reaches back into history to learn from her ancestors. Through their journey to seize freedom, they master identity and realize dreams. This is the story of fourteen females, ages 4 to 65, of African, Asian, Latin and European descent who dare to form a community that transcends age, race, sexuality and gender roles.

  • Animals of the Chinese Zodiac
    Kim was featured as "The Rat" in Animal Planet's Animals of the Chinese Zodiac. Produced by JWM Productions and filmed at Yenching Palace in Washington, DC, the original air date was January 22, 2004.

    2003

  • Mental Health Players
    Kim joins the Mental Health Players, an improvisational acting troupe, which performs for the purpose of educating and enlightening the public about mental health issues, eliminating the stigma attached to it, and stimulating dialogue about these issues. Her first performance will be on December 4, 2003 at "Taking Care of Mom and Dad: A Conference for Professionals Helping Caregivers" as an incompetent case worker.

  • Pen to Paper
    Kim wrote a dramatic monologue for the Tsunami Theatre Company which was performed at the Domestic Violence Resource Project (DVRP) fundraiser event and the Library of Congress in October. DVRP is comprised mainly of volunteers dedicated to addressing and preventing domestic violence in Asian/Pacific Islander communities in the DC area. Kim's piece was one of a series of part-fact, part-fiction original monologues that addressed personal experiences with domestic violence among Asian women.

  • Making Euphoria
    Kim will be featured in The Euphoria Project. This two-part series funded by NIH explores the link between pursuing happiness and the neuroscience of euphoria. The project will be directed by Lee Boot and John Chester.

  • TV Pilot
    Kim portrayed an office worker in the television pilot of Dirty Jokes, which will be produced and directed by Richard Waganer.

  • Hack
    Kim completed extra work for the television series Hack starring David Morse and Andre Braugher. This CBS show is about ex-cop turned cab driver Mike Olshansky (David Morse) who attempts to make up for his past disgressions by continuing to fight crime. Hack airs on Saturday 9 pm Et.

  • Suspicious Minds...
    Kim was cast in the independent film Roommate Wanted, a short comedy about an Elvis fanatic's search for the perfect roommate among a seemingly normal pool of applicants. The film will be produced by Monopolated Light & Power and directed by Richard Baker. Most recently, Baker's experimental short Por Mis Ojos (Through My Eyes) was screened at Artscape 2003 and the 2003 Maryland Film Festival. This reflection of Baker's childhood dreams and memories was described by the Baltimore City Paper as "visually and aurally mysterious, even sinister...as creepy as the killer film in The Ring." Filming was completed August 24, 2003 and Roommate Wanted is currently in post-production.

  • Final Cut
    Kim was cast as Stephanie in the Project Mayhem Productions feature
    Final Cut. This Towson University student film was directed by Mike Passaro with Rob Perry as director of photography. The film follows a day in the life of a struggling director, as what starts out as the pain of rejection turns into the horror of homicide. This film currently is in post-production.

  • Ladder 49
    In addition to being cast as an extra in Ladder 49, Kim was also cast as a stand-in for the character of Katie. The film stars John Travolta, Joaquin Phoenix and Jacinda Barrett and is being directed by Jay Russell (Tuck Everlasting, End of the Line). The release date is set for sometime in 2004.   • Saturday Night at Madam Wing's
    Kim was cast as an extra in Saturday Night at Madam Wing's, starring Todd Wall. This independent film will be the third in the Full Moon Fables Trilogy to be written and directed by Edward B. Sherman. The first and second parts of the trilogy are State of the Artist and The Studio, respectively. Sherman is a Washington DC native whose other writing/directing credits include Across the Alley and Eli's Coming, which ran on The Sundance Channel for over a year.

  • Kobo Abe's The Green Stockings
    Kim was cast as the "Stagehand/Patient" in The Green Stockings for the Tsunami Theatre Company. Written by Japanese playwright Kobo Abe, this absurdist drama addresses universal concerns such as the value of a human life and the human obsession with scientific progress. Closely following the transformation process of a man who turns into a herbivorous human being, Abe illuminates the problems of the contemporary society we live in with wry humor. The show ran from April 12-27 and May 3-18 at the Bethesda Writer's Center.

  • Literary Night at Kennedy Center Millennium Stage
    Kim joined eight other women on Wednesday, May 14 at 6 pm for an evening of poetry, prose and performance. This co-production of the Tsunami Theatre Company and MuseFire Productions featured original works and was directed by Michelle T. Hall. Kennedy Center Millennium Stage performances are free and broadcast/archived online.

  • Japanese Folktales
    Kim performed in The Crane Wife and Momotaro, the Peach Boy at the
    Capital Children's Museum, 800 3rd Street NE, Washington, DC 20002.
    The show ran from March 20-April 6, 2003 as part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

    2002

  • Forever in Hell Part II
    Kim reprised the role of Estelle in Ellipsis from November 13-17 and 20-24, as part of the Art-O-Matic 2002 festival. Originally produced in Paris of May 1944, this adaptation of Jean-Paul Sartre's No Exit embodies Sartre's existentialist philosophy and clearly illustrates a cornerstone of existentialist thought: "Hell is other people."   • Staged Reading
    Kim portrayed Sally in "Capture the Moon" by Hillary Benefiel, a staged reading at The Kennedy Center on September 30, 2002. This play, about a young girl with autism, was one of the runner-ups in the 2002 VSA arts Playwright Discovery Program. The other chosen pieces were "Mind Invasion" by Tiffany McCrea (winner) and "Hearing Your Heart" by Julie DeLizza (runnerup). All three pieces were directed by Paul-Douglas Michnewicz.

  • One-Act Festival
    Kim played Ms. Mark in Peter Sagal's "Game Theory" directed by Cheryl Ann Costa and performed at Silver Spring Stage's One-Act Festival from August 29-31, 2002. Originally written for two male actors, this 10-minute play involved a simulated business negotiation. The goal: convincing the other person to cross over a drawn line.
